‘Freddie and the Trojan Horse’ has been causing much controversy due to its political lyrics
In the song ‘Freddie’ is a pseudonym for Fredrik Reinfeldt (the Swedish Prime Minister)
Reinfeldt is the leader of the ‘Swedish moderate party’, he won the 2006 Swedish elections by branding his party the ‘workers party’ and making promises of change for Sweden.
it seems that many people feel that he didn’t live up to his promise but instead used his promises as a way to gain the seat as prime minister.
Johan Duncanson said that the reason why he felt so compelled to write such an attacking and political song was that he had had enough of “the untruthfulness of the Swedish right-wing government and how the leading party seized power by portraying itself as supportive of the workers.”
